The whole coast of Kenya has lovely sandy beaches, but the most well developed beach destinations include:
- Diani area of Mombasa
- Bamburi area of Mombasa
- Watamu within the Watamu Marine National Park
- Malindi
The Diani beach area, while busy, is much less so than Bamburi and northern Mombasa. The palm fringed beaches give way to coral reefs which provides excellent diving and snorkelling.
The beaches of north Mombasa are busy. They are however well known for kite surfing and have many options available for the adventure lover.
Watamu and its marine park offer mouth-watering snorkelling and diving opportunities.
Malindi is often referred to as “little Italy”, consequently the resorts have catered to their main market. The beaches are lovely, snorkelling and scuba diving is good.
This whole coast is good for deep-sea fishing.
